Kindness Mural in Virginia

RICHMOND, VA, USA  –  Patience Salgado is the self-proclaimed Kindnessgirl.   And with the local art community in Richmond, she is celebrating stories of kindness.  Here is the video promotion.  Very nice.  http://vimeo.com/70083827

The Light of Human Kindness is an interactive mural in Richmond hat will explore the relationship of light and darkness and what can happen when art, technology and kindness come together to illuminate the power of human connection.

How the Wall Works

  1. We share our stories of darkness and light at thelightofhumankindness.tumblr.com
  2. The stories are transferred onto the wall itself in a community wide event on August 17, 2013
  3. Artist Hamilton Glass paints over the stories and begins work on a 80 foot wide mural, depicting the beauty and truth of our shared darkness and our light.
  4. Creative technologists install 1,000 LED lights directly onto the mural in preparation for the debut of The Light of Human Kindness mural at the RVA Street Art Festival.
  5. Richmonders and friends from around the world will perform acts of kindness and record their experiences at  thelightofhumankindness.com. Each act completed and recorded will power up an individual light in real time starting September 9, 2013. When you hit “submit”, you light the wall!
  6. Visitors from Richmond and beyond can interact with the wall from September 14th until the exhibit closes on December 31st.
