MIAMI, FL – Moving the Lives of Kids Community Mural Project (MLK Mural) is a 501(c)3 charitable organization, which focuses on the arts, youth development, and education. MLK Mural was founded in 2007 by Artist and Muralist Kyle Holbrook originally from the Wilkinsburg area of Pittsburgh. His vision was to use public art as a way to reach kids over the summer months to do positive community work when they were not in school. Today as many as 5,000 youth and hundreds of professional Artists have shared that vision with Mr. Holbrook. Murals have been painted in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Florida, and outside the US in Haiti and Brazil.

Pinnacle Housing’s Rayos del Sol in Little Havana region of Miami got a little touch of MLK Mural. Today we did the final wrap up of the mural 14 stories up. This colossal piece is visible from downtown Miami and the 95. The image represents mother earth watching over people of earth no matter where you live. She is draped in traditional cuban patterns, flowers, and the national bird of Cuba. This piece was created by a team of Cuban American MLK Mural Artists
MLK Mural came out for the American Black Film Festival on June 23rd on Lincoln Ave in South Beach Miami to do a Live mural for the red carpet event for Robert Townsend’s new film ” Playin’ for Love.” MLK Mural had 10 youth residence from Pinnacle Housing’s Pinnacle Place participating in the two day star studded event.
